Dass auch drei Mann ausreichen, um einen grossen, druckvollen und komplexen Sound zu fabrizieren, beweist die Formation 'dark side of me' auf eindrückliche Art und Weise.

 

Würde man die Bandmitglieder fragen, wie man ihre Musik am besten beschreiben könnte, lautete die Antwort wohl einstimmig: „Harte, melancholische, groovige Rocksongs mit grossen Melodien, eingängigen Refrains und hohem Wiedererkennungswert“. Auch wenn der Einfluss von Grössen wie ‚Amorphis‘, ‚Paradise Lost‘, 'Threshold' und frühen ‚HIM‘ nicht von der Hand zu weisen ist, glänzen die Songs durch Eigenständigkeit, was vor allem daran liegt, dass 'dark side of me' ohne musikalische Scheuklappen unterwegs sind und Eindrücke aus allen Ecken verarbeiten.

 

In den Jahren seit der Gründung hat sich die Band nicht nur ein stattliches Arsenal an eigenen Songs erarbeitet, sondern darf unter anderem auch auf zahlreiche Auftritte, u.a. mit 'Nitrogods', 'Johnboy', 'Ninetnine', 'Acoustical South', 'Head-Z', 'Amerikan Beauty', 'Rääs', 'Demonium', 'paul sails for rome', 'Dark Salvation', 'Shotgun', 'Shades & Peters', 'Mooncry' und 'Landvogt',  in Liechtenstein, der Schweiz und Deutschland zurückblicken.

 

Zwischenzeitlich hat die Band mit 'Ignition Spark' (2019) und 'Silence Of The Swallows' (2024) zwei Alben am Start, welche bei der internationalen Fachpresse durchs Band sehr gute Kritiken bekommen haben.

If you asked the band members, how they would describe the music of the band, the answer will be, without any doubt: "Hard, melancholic, groovy rock songs with huge melodies, catchy choruses and a high recognition value." Even though the influence of bands like 'Amorphis', 'Paradise Lost', 'Threshold' and 'HIM' (in their early days) cannot be denied, every song is an original with its own character - and the reason is simply because 'dark side of me' do not limit themselves during their songwriting process and appreciate any impression as well as any musical influence.

 

Since the very beginning, the band not only wrote and gathered a lot of songs, but also can look back on a nice number of gigs.
